About Beaumont, CA

Beaumont, California, is a city in Riverside County. Its name comes from the French phrase meaning “beautiful mountain,” which is fitting because this city is situated amidst a series of rolling hills. The first inhabitants of Beaumont were Native Americans who lived in the region for thousands of years before the Spanish arrived in 1798 and founded San Gorgonio Pass Mission. In 1819, Mexico took over what would become Orange County and Riverside County when it was still part of Alta California under Spanish rule.

After winning independence from Spain, Mexico ceded Alta California to the United States and became known as Mexican Cession territory until statehood was granted by Congress on February 14th 1850 at which point it became part of California again before becoming one county bigger with San Bernardino County’s formation later that same year!

The city was incorporated in 1925 after being founded as a community on May 30th 1921 by J.R (Jack) Rice; his partner Frank Miller; John J Wackermann; Mose Vigneaux; Edward F French and Charles Pheiffer during their search for oil in the area near Banning (now Banning Pass). As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 83,922.
